I have just been chatting to my parents this morning, over in the UK. It seems they are having the same good weather that we are over here in Nova Scotia.
Hopefully, the good weather will continue in the UK to give a sunny weekend for the upcoming Guilfest at Stoke Park, Guilford. What started out as the, one day, Guildford Festival of Folk and Blues, in 1992 has grown to a much larger event over 3 days (16-18th July). Considered to be a ‘family friendly’ style festival this years 3 headliners are: Orbital, The Human League and Status Quo.
Of particular interest to me would be the Rocksound Rock Cave stage with F***ed Up and We Are The Ocean playing at the top of the bill on Friday night. Check out the other bands on the bill at www.guilfest.co.uk.
1. Look Alive
2. Our Days Are Numbered
3. All of This Has to End
5. These Days, I Have Nothing
6. Don’t Take Chances
7. (I’ll Grab You By The) Neck of the Woods
8. Are You Proud of Me Now?
9. I Used to Be So Much More
10. This Is Called My Home
Cutting Our Teeth is We are The Ocean’s post-hardcore serving of melodic arrangements, soaring/shouting vocals and riff heavy guitar. If you like Alexisonfire, Emarosa or A Day To Remember then We Are The Ocean might strike a chord with you. If you find yourself in the UK in Feb 2010 you can check them out on the Lostprophets tour. I think that 2010 could be an interesting year for the UK scene.
