The Nice - The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack

After posting Classic Rock’s – 10 Essential 00s Prog Albums a few days ago, I was trying to remember where I had seen a 70s prog list other than one I had posted a couple of months ago. I finally found it in my little black book of music lists which I have close to me at all times, well there are a lot of lists in there. This list came from a Prog Special that Terrorizer did some years ago and it only focuses on ‘70s prog. Here’s the list:

  • The Nice – The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack
  • King Crimson – In The Court Of The Crimson King
  • Soft Machine – Third
  • Amon Duul II – Yeti
  • Pink Floyd – Meddle
  • Van der Graaf Generator – Pawn Hearts
  • Can – Tago Mago
  • Curved Air – Second Album
  • Genesis – Foxtrot
  • Yes – Close To The Edge
  • Neu! – Neu!
  • Aphrodite’s Child – 666
  • Jethro Tull – Thick As A Brick
  • Gentle Giant – Octopus
  • ELP – Brain Salad Surgery
  • King Crimson – Red
  • Hawkwind – Warrior On The Edge Of Time
  • Faust – The Faust Tapes
  • Camel – Moonmadness
  • Rush – A Farewell To Kings

I could never get into Can, it just seemed a bit too random. Everything else on this list is genius though.
